My Cleanse Experience ๐งผ
Apr 15, 2024If you are not new here, you know I have been seasonally cleansing ๐งผ for the past 10 years. I have done many different iterations of cleanses that have involved eliminating everything under the sun from dairy, gluten, meat, nuts, processed foods, fats to even food itself ๐ง๐ฑ! In the beginning of my healing journey, each cleanse was healing my gut on a deeper level and therefore, regulating my energy levels and sleep. It is safe to say my gut is healed now, but why do I still cleanse every season? I cleanse, because the spiritual benefits are tremendous and directly impact my business.
Results of Doing a Cleanse for Your Business ๐ฅ
I find it so hilarious how I almost convince myself that I don't need a cleanse every Fall/Spring. My mind will say how silly it is and how it won't actually change anything. But here is I know when I need to cleanse.
- feeling heavy, sluggish, puffy ๐ณ or tired
- feeling like you need 'more' ๐ฉ to sustain your personal happiness (i.e. more food, podcasts/information, workouts, caffeine... insert your mild addiction here)
- feeling stuck or like you can't move forward in certain or all aspects of your life
It was a triple check for me โ โ โ , so I put my ego aside and commenced my cleanse. On day 1, I noticed myself longing for my addictive vices like snacking, podcasts, social media, just busy-ness in order to distract myself and not feel my emotions ๐ซฃ. After a lil pout fest, I finally whipped out my ole journal, wrote on how I felt and took a long walk. As much as I like to think that I am always moving intentionally throughout my day, it is nearly impossible not to pickup other's emotions and baggage day in and day out (which is why cleanses are perfect for cleaning up shop โ๐ผ).
I had quite a back log of emotions I had been shoving down and antidoting with my vices. So, come day 2 and 3, I had much space to reflect on how certain beliefs patterns led to self sabotaging behaviors. After giving myself space to recognize these, I then linked it to my business and created new habits and beliefs to support the new identity I wanted to step into โจ. Here is exactly what I excavated.
Old Belief: My worth is in my productivity
Old Behaviors: Working on 4-5 projects at a time and adding in more. Saying 'yes' to opportunities that don't compensate me.
New Belief: My rest is productive. My energy is best received when it is focused and aligned.
New Behavior: Focus on 1-2 projects at a time. Say 'yes' to opportunities that fill me on all levels: financially and energetically.
As a Pitta identifying entrepreneur ๐ฅ, I want to try as much as possible to get maximum results. I get loads of joy from seeing physical results- more clients, payments, likes, comments, etc. I never want to be known as 'not going for it', so I pour my energy into everything. However, by putting energy towards 4-5 projects rather than doing one or two really well, the results are limited ๐ค. I notice that I sometimes half ass some of the 4-5 projects, because my energy is drained ๐ต๐ซ, rather than being excited to commit to the 1-2. It always feels uncomfortable releasing some of these tasks, but the results always show up immensely for my personal energy and my business.
Old Belief: People don't like it when I am in my power โก๏ธ.
Old behaviors: Post or do tasks inconsistently.
New Belief: People love when I am in my power and rise to their highest Self. I am worthy of my fullest potential.
New Behavior: Commit to my trackers and accountability practices for my business.
Whenever you go through an upgrade โจ, it can make others around you feel uncomfortable and trigger a fear in them. Oh no- she is rising to a different vibration- will we lose her? For me this a deep wound, where I felt like people love me best when I am small, quiet and don't grow. Can you imagine the impact of this wound trying to run a business on the mega speaker that is IG?! I noticed this week how the voice in my head that says 'You're too much", "Be careful!", "Are you sure you can do that?!" pops up in my head and prevents me from taking risks on my business like posting edgy content or taking action on acquiring new clients. In these moments, I ground and reframe my beliefs to align with my behaviors.
Old Belief: I am afraid of losing what I have ๐ฉ.
Old behaviors: Creating scenarios in mind of losing what I have and creating solutions to get out of it. self sabotaging my business by distracting tasks myself with tasks that don't get results.
New Belief: I am worthy of reaching my fullest potential. I can sustain my power.
New Behavior: Staying consistent with my needle moving business practices ๐ rather than doing busy work
The 'waiting for the other shoe to drop' syndrome ๐ซฃ. I find that because there was unpredictable behaviors in my childhood, I have a deep survival need to control my outcomes. In an effort to not go through an emotionally dramatic experience, like a loss, I create worst case scenarios in my head and create solutions to get out of it. While this may sound productive, it actually takes up so much mental space that ends up driving my anxiety ๐ซ and clouding my intuition. Instead, what if the best case scenario happened? What if I was capable no matter what was thrown at me? What if I was worthy of everything that I have right now and there is no need to fear losing it? I practice the act of presence and gratitude regularly in my business to ground myself and release this fear. Simple statements like 'I have x amount of clients. I made x amount of money this month.' Help me to really feel everything I have and be grateful for all that is here.
